Why do I love destination weddings?

I’m asked this quite often! I’m a South African based in Lisbon after having lived and worked in Switzerland for several years and working extensively across all of Europe for the past 20.

I love all things international. I love to travel, I’m inspired by the people, the different cultures, the colours, the food, the languages, the personalities…

I love all things weddings and events. The creativity, the buzz, the logistics, that feeling when a plan comes together, the look on a couple’s face when they see the end result!

And I love showing off Portugal. It’s such a beautiful country with so much to offer. The people, the climate, the food, the hospitality, the history. Did I mention the people??

Destination weddings are, for me, the perfect mix of these 3 ingredients.

I consider each wedding a partnership. You are at the core of every decision as it really is all about you. Most couples have demanding professional lives and limited time available to plan a wedding. Added to that is fact that your wedding is taking place in a foreign country.

I’m there to facilitate the planning process, to advise when needed and to manage the many to-do’s so that you can concentrate on the fun bits and relish the experience.

    We had to plan our wedding in Portugal from afar within a few months. The event was a full day affair for 150 guests with multiple components, including a pool party, a breakfast, a lunch, and a dinner, a wedding ceremony, a cocktail reception, a dance party for adults and a party for kids with a magician, science experiments and arts and crafts. You were instrumental in making sure the event was executed in the most professional and smoothest way possible. Your experience, responsiveness and attention to detail greatly exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t believe that it was possible to pull off an event like this after visiting the venue only once and having done only one food tasting. All the other communication and planning was done remotely and your flexibility and readiness to respond to our numerous questions and requests for modifications were truly remarkable. Our wedding was beautiful, and we didn’t have to stress about any logistics whatsoever as we had full trust in what you were doing.
